OVERVIEW OF PROGRAMME

Nursing is an integral part of the healthcare team and are professionals that are in great demand worldwide. Highly skilled graduate nurses can seek employment both locally and abroad. The Diploma in Nursing course offered by Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College has been designed to provide graduates with the knowledge, skill and competence required to be a confident and caring nurse.

The course prepares graduates for the challenges of the healthcare industry, comprising the nursing sciences, health sciences and behavioral sciences. Students will experience learning through classes, laboratory work and via clinical placements. For their clinical competencies, students will be posted to hospitals such as those owned by the Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare Group to enable them to nurse patients with general conditions and diseases.

They will also experience nursing in the community and in mental health institutions. The students will be supervised, guided and mentored by experienced and committed lecturers at the college and by competent and dedicated clinical instructors in the clinical areas.

POST BASIC FOR NURSES

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia.
  • Possess current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for nurses.
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical working experience.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN TRAUMA AND EMERGENCY CARE

  • Possess a Diploma in Medical Assistant or Diploma in Nursing and registered with respective Board; or
  • Diploma in Paramedic Science; or
  • Diploma in other health sciences related to clinical accredited by MQA and approved by the College Academic Committee
  • Presently working in clinical setting with at least 1 year of work experience in Emergency and Trauma department

DIPLOMA IN PHYSIOTHERAPY

  • (5) credits in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / O-level or Equivalent
  • Credit in Mathematics
  • Credit in (1) one Science Subject:
  • General Science/ Applied Science OR Biology OR Chemistry OR Physics
  • 3 credit in any other subject
  • Pass in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Sejarah (History)

DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL ASSISTANT

  • (5) Five credits in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / O-level or Equivalent
  • Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and Mathematics OR Add Maths
  • Credit in one Science subject :
